More and more of us in business use an iPhone or iPad to read emails or browse websites. For one, there’s no waiting for it to boot up like a computer, access is instant; but sometimes you need to print something off quick but end up having to wait for your computer to go through its business before you can actually do anything.
Assuming you have the right equipment, there is a way around this. You see, Apple have this facility called AirPrint which allows you to print directly from a mobile device to a printer.
SO WHAT DO I NEED THEN?
To print from an iPhone or iPad, what you need is an AirPrint enabled printer and the majority of the latest models do come with his facility, but it’s worth checking this when the time comes to replace your printer.
To use AirPrint, you need to make sure the mobile device is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the printer, otherwise the device won’t be able to find the printer.
HOW DO I PRINT?
Assuming you’ve followed the guidelines above in connecting everything to the same Wi-Fi network, you print the document or email by selecting the curved arrow you usually select when replying or forwarding an email and click on the Print option.
If it’s not showing the printer automatically, click on the Select Printer and that will scan for the AirPrint printer. Once found, click Print.

I DON’T HAVE AN AIRPRINT PRINTER – IS THERE ANOTHER WAY?
Google Cloud Print is another option which allows you configure a printer to your Google account and allows you to print from a mobile device using the Google Cloud Print app.
