Defragging a laptop or desktop PC that has a Solid State Disk can shorten the life of the disk considerably.Windows 7 & 8 is designed not to defrag but you might be defragging the system manually.
If you do manually defrag, the drive could fail earlier than would ordinarily be expected.
There are no moving parts in an SSD drive so the issue with files becoming fragmented (like traditional hard drives) does not apply.
